Kampala, (SONNA) – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E Hassan Sheikh Mohamud arrived in Kampala, Uganda, to attend the Comprehensive Africa Agricultural Development Programme (CAADP) Summit. The summit focuses on advancing agricultural development and food security across the continent.
The President will be joined by a delegation that arrived in Kampala on the 7th of this month to reaffirm Somalia’s commitment to Agricultural Development.
President Mohamud is expected to have sideline meetings with the Presidents of Uganda, H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, William Samoei Ruto, and other meetings.
The President also received an official invitation from the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Abiy Ahmed, to discuss the stability of the region and common interests, following the Ankara Declaration, Somalia is determined to keep the peace and stability of the region with its sovereignty and territorial integrity respected.
The Somali delegation is participating in the Special African Union Summit focusing on the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP). This high-level summit brings together African leaders to discuss effective strategies for advancing agricultural development, strengthening food security, and fostering sustainable economic growth across the continent.
Somalia’s active participation underscores its unwavering commitment to regional collaboration and its determination to contribute to Africa’s collective efforts to achieve food self-sufficiency and resilience.
