The Prime Minister of Somalia, Mr. Hamsa Abdi Barre, praised the security forces for their efforts in maintaining peace and stability in the capital, Mogadishu, during a visit to the Hiil-weyne base on Thursday.
Mr. Barre said that the Somali people were proud of the security forces, who had proven their security in the capital for a short time. He said that Mogadishu was among the safest capitals in the world, thanks to the sacrifices and patriotism of the forces.
He also held a meeting with the security agencies and the administration of the Banaadir region, where he discussed the security enhancement of the capital and the coordination of the security operations.
The Hiil-weyne base is located between Mogadishu and Balcad, and hosts the military police (Polizia militare), who are responsible for the security of the capital. The base was established in 2022, as part of the security reform plan of the federal government.
