Mogadishu (SONNA) – Brigadier General Asad Osman Abdullahi, the Somali Police Chief, recently held a meeting with the Independent National Electoral and Boundaries Commission to discuss the critical role of the police in the upcoming One Person One Vote Election.
During the meeting, Brigadier General Abdullahi emphasized the Somali Police Force’s preparedness to ensure the security of the election process. He assured that the police have full authority to protect polling stations and facilitate the smooth conduct of the election, which is expected to take place soon.
The discussions highlighted the importance of collaboration between the police and the electoral commission to ensure a safe and fair election. Both parties expressed their commitment to upholding the integrity of the electoral process and ensuring that voters can exercise their rights in a secure environment.
