Mogadishu, (SONNA) – Two Somali police officers including the Commander of Heliwa police station, Abdifatah Mohamed Hassan Qoslaaye and Mohamed Abdi Mohamed Qoone, have been sentenced to death after being convicted by Somalia’s military court for killing a businessman, Abukar Ahmed Kaabah on Feb 24, 2024.
The Military Court has stripped off their police ranks and removed them from the police force.
Three other accomplices including Liibaan Mohamed Omar, Mohamed Cadawe Ali and Yasin Abdi Jama, were sentenced to 15 the first and 10 years the other two to jail terms for their role in the plot that led to the killing.
Hassan Mohamed Siciid (Dhiin-Dhiin) was also sentenced to 10 years for being involved in the plot.
The Court released Mohamed Hassan Osman after they could not find evidence against him.
