Mogadishu, (SONNA):- Banadir region’s football team secured a 1-0 victory over South West state’s team in a thrilling match at the stadium in Mogadishu. The match was part of an ongoing competition between the regional governments of the country and Banadir region.

The only goal of the match was scored by Banadir’s number 22, Khalid, in the 53rd minute of the second half. The South West team tried hard to equalize, but Banadir’s defense was too strong to break.

This was the second match of the competition, which started last week with a 1-1 draw between Galmudug and Hirshabeelle. The next match will be between Jubbaland and Galmudug tomorrow. Jubbaland will be playing its first match, while Galmudug will be looking for its first win. Banadir is currently leading the ranking with 3 points, followed by Galmudug and Hirshabeelle with one point each.

The competition has attracted a lot of attention and enthusiasm from the fans, who filled the stadium with over 50,000 spectators in the two matches played so far. The competition will continue until January 1, 2024, when the final match will be held.
