National Drought Committee meets today for financial quota distribution for the States

Mogadishu (SONNA) – The meeting was chaired by H.E Khajida Mohamed Diriye the Chairperson of the National Drought Relief Committee (NDRC) and was attended by members of the committee, they first discussed some information on the state of Drought that was provided and the situation affecting the people and animals.

After a lengthy debate, the committee agreed to distribute the financial quotas to each State given the difficult situation facing the Somali community in the drought-stricken regions.

Finally, the Committee agreed that the Ministry of Relief and Disaster Management of the Federal Government of Somalia should send an invitation to the Ministries of the States to respond to the distressing messages from the Drought-Affected Areas.
