Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, today attended a ceremony marking the appreciation of national exam staff for the 2024–2025 academic year, the closing of the national teachers’ training program, and the official launch of the 2025/2026 school year.
Organised by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Higher Learning, the event concluded a training program that benefited 300 teachers selected from across the country, equipping them with modern teaching methods and improved instructional skills.
President Hassan Sheikh commended the leadership and staff of the Ministry of Education for their efforts in advancing education, supporting teachers, managing the national examinations, and ensuring Somali children have access to quality and unified education.
He further urged the Higher Education Council to prioritise quality assurance in universities and the promotion of research, stressing that the development of the nation is fundamentally linked to the knowledge and skills of Somali youth.
