Somalia Joins Arab Parliamentary Leaders in Cairo to Advance Regional Cooperation

Cairo, (SONNA) — A high-level delegation from Somalia’s Upper House of Parliament participated in the 8th Conference of the Arab Parliament and Speakers of Arab Parliaments, held at the headquarters of the League of Arab States in Cairo.
The Somali delegation was led by Senator Abdihakim Moallim Ahmed Malin, who addressed the conference and outlined Somalia’s vision for strengthening Arab cooperation in digital transformation, national data protection, cybersecurity, and the development of modern legislation that keeps pace with emerging technologies.
The conference also adopted several resolutions, including one concerning Somalia that strongly condemned Israel’s actions and focused on what participants described as interference and violations in Arab countries, particularly Somalia, Lebanon, and Syria. The resolution reaffirmed the importance of respecting national sovereignty, territorial integrity, international law, and the United Nations Charter.
The resolutions and recommendations adopted at the conference will be submitted to Arab heads of state and government for consideration at the upcoming Arab League Summit.
