KUWAIT CITY, June 26, 2026 (SONNA) — Somali international referee Omar Abdulkadir Artan has arrived in Kuwait City after receiving an official invitation from Kuwait Football Association Chairman Sheikh Ahmed Al-Yusuf to officiate a top-flight league match between Kuwait SC and Al-Qadsiya, scheduled for June 29, 2026.
The match is one of the final fixtures of the Zain Premier League season, Kuwait's top professional football competition, making the appointment a significant recognition of Omar's officiating credentials at one of the most competitive stages of the regional football calendar.
Upon his arrival in Kuwait, Omar was officially received by Somalia's Ambassador to Kuwait, Abdullahi Mohamed Sheikh, alongside officials from the Kuwait Football Association and representatives of Al-Shaayic Company, reflecting the diplomatic significance the visit carries alongside its sporting dimension.
