Mogadishu, SONNA – Somalia’s Second Deputy Prime Minister, H.E. Abdisalam Abdi Ali, visited hospitals in Mogadishu to meet soldiers and local fighters wounded in battles against Al-Shabaab and ISIS militants.

As Chairman of the National Committee to Support the Fight Against the Khawarij (Al-Shabaab and ISIS), the Deputy PM personally checked on the injured, assuring them of the government’s full support. “We stand with our heroes and will ensure they receive the best care,” he stated during the visit.

Accompanied by committee members, Abdisalam received briefings from medical staff and urged them to prioritize the treatment of wounded soldiers, praising their sacrifices in liberating Somalia from extremist groups.

Speaking to the press afterward, the Deputy PM emphasized the committee’s nationwide mandate, supporting Somali armed forces, regional troops, and local communities in the fight against terrorism. He called on all Somalis to unite in defending the country and their faith.

The visit shows the government’s commitment to both military efforts and post-combat care as Somalia intensifies its offensive against Al-Shabaab.
