Somalia, Austria Immigration Authorities Discuss Enhanced Cooperation

Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Director General of Somalia’s Immigration and Citizenship Agency (ICA), Mr. Hussein Qasim Yusuf (Iidow), on Tuesday held talks in Mogadishu with the Director General of Austria’s immigration authority, Mr. Gernot Maier, and the delegation accompanying him.

During the meeting, Director General Hussein underscored the importance of strengthening cooperation and institutional ties between the two agencies. He highlighted the ICA’s ongoing reform and modernization efforts, emphasizing the need for international partnerships to support improvements in immigration services and border management.

For his part, Mr. Maier expressed appreciation for the warm reception and welcomed the opportunity to deepen collaboration between the immigration authorities of Somalia and Austria.

The meeting focused on areas of mutual interest aimed at enhancing cooperation on migration management, institutional capacity building, and the modernization of immigration services.
