National Security Advisor Hosts EU Delegation for Strategic Review of Security Missions in Somalia

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The National Security Advisor to the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Ambassador Aweis Haji Yusuf Ahmed, hosted a visiting delegation from the European External Action Service (EEAS) for discussions on the strategic review of the European Union Training Mission in Somalia (EUTM Somalia) and the European Union Capacity Building Mission in Somalia (EUCAP Somalia).

The National Security Advisor noted that years of partnership with the European Union have contributed significantly to the development of more professional, capable and accountable Somali security institutions.

He emphasized that as Somalia transitions from mission-led support to Somali-led security ownership, the review presents an opportunity to further strengthen a partnership that has delivered tangible results and to jointly advance efforts toward a more secure and stable future.
