Southwest State Leader Receives UN Political Affairs Delegation in Baidoa

Baidoa, (SONNA) — The Leader of Southwest State of Somalia, H.E. Sheikh Aden Mohamed Nur (Madobe) on Tuesday received a senior delegation from the United Nations at the Presidential Palace in Baidoa.
The delegation was led by the Head of Political Affairs at the United Nations in Somalia, Vikram Parekh, and the UN Political Affairs Officer for Southwest State, Morgan Dube.
The meeting focused on the political situation in Southwest State, strengthening cooperation between the regional administration and the United Nations, and advancing ongoing state-building and stabilization efforts across the region.
Discussions also covered ways to accelerate governance initiatives and support sustainable peace and development in Southwest State.
The UN delegation reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Southwest State, particularly in the areas of institutional development, peace-building, and the implementation of inclusive political processes.
Sheikh Aden Madobe thanked the United Nations for its continued support to Somalia, emphasizing the importance of enhanced cooperation in achieving lasting peace, stability, and sustainable development.
