MOGADISHU, Somalia – The Deputy Governor of Beledxawo District, Abdifatah Nur Mataan, has affirmed the district’s total support for the Federal Government of Somalia in defending the country against Ethiopian aggression. In a recent address to the national media, Deputy Governor Mataan highlighted the solidarity of the Beledxawo administration and its commitment to the nation’s sovereignty.
Deputy Governor Mataan emphasized that the recent protests in Gedo were a powerful demonstration of the people’s sentiments, showcasing their strong opposition to the Ethiopian incursion and their steadfast alignment with the Somali government. “The people of Beledxawo stand with the government, and they showed how they reject the Ethiopian aggression. I, as the acting governor, and all members of the administration, stand with the government in defending the country’s independence,” he stated.
He also criticized the previous administration in Jubaland for failing to address critical social issues such as healthcare and education, expressing hope that the federal government would prioritize the needs of Beledxawo District. “The previous administration in Jubaland, whose term has expired, has not addressed social issues, such as health and education. We hope the government will address the needs of the people of Beledxawo District,” he added.
