Mogadishu(SONNA): U.S Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Molly Phee reported about her discussions with President Farmajo and Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble, following separate talks.
Molly Phee said that she spoke with President Farmajo on urgent need to stop escalatory rhetoric, security forces being neutral and to support Somalia’s Prime Minister Mohamed Hussain Roble in holding an National Consultative Council meeting to swiftly conclude credible elections.
“I spoke yesterday with Somalia’s PM to underscore our support for his efforts to hold an National Consultative Council meeting to correct election irregularities and swiftly conclude credible elections. All parties should stop escalatory actions and security forces should remain neutral.” U.S ASSAA Said in a tweet earlier.
