Mogadishu (SONNA)-Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Government, H.E. Mahdi Mohamed Guled said that  the first phase of oral debate on maritime dispute between the two countries, concluded Tuesday, SONNA reported.

The Attorney General, Suleyman Mohamed Mohamud commended the efficient manner in which our country’s lawyers presented clear arguments for the validity of the Somali case file and the international principles relating to maritime law.

The lawyers also made clear to the Kenyan government’s on violation of Somalia’s sea waters and wrong approaches it took towards our sea.

“I hereby declare to the Somali people that the government and people of Somalia are united in defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Somalia, and I hope that the outcome will be a source of joy for all Somalis.” Mr. Mohamud said.

The Court will decide the next proceedings on the matter as our neighboring country, Kenya boycotted to attend the hearings at the International Court of Justice, The Hogue.
