Mogadishu(SONNA)-Somali Ambassador to Germany and Poland has formally presented his Letters of Credence to Tamás Sulyok, President of Hungary, in a ceremony held on 17 February 2026 in Budapest.
During the ceremony, the Ambassador was officially accredited as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Somalia to Hungary in a non-resident capacity. The event marked the first official presentation of credentials by a Somali Ambassador to Hungary, representing a significant milestone in diplomatic relations between the two countries.
In his remarks, the Ambassador described the occasion as a reflection of Somalia’s broader efforts to expand its international engagement and strengthen bilateral ties. He emphasized that Somalia continues to enhance its global presence and build new partnerships to support its national development goals.
Hungary was highlighted as an important partner for Somalia within Europe, particularly in areas of cooperation that contribute to sustainable development, institutional capacity-building, and economic collaboration.
The presentation of credentials underscores a new chapter in relations between Somalia and Hungary, paving the way for closer diplomatic and economic cooperation in the years ahead.
