Somalia’s State Minister of Communications and Technology, Ahmed Diri met with Qatar’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Mohammed bin Ali Al-Mannai, on the sidelines of Mobile World Congress(MWC) Doha 2025 to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the digital sector.
The meeting focused on expanding collaboration between the two countries, particularly in digitizing government services, developing ICT infrastructure, and enhancing cybersecurity capabilities to keep pace with rapid technological advancements.
The State Minister briefed the Qatari side on Somalia’s progress in modernizing public services and the government’s efforts to build an integrated digital system that enables citizens to access essential services more efficiently.
For his part, the Qatari Minister expressed his government’s readiness to increase support for digital governance programs, professional training for government employees, and the development of modern communication services, reaffirming Qatar’s commitment to advancing digital transformation initiatives in Somalia.
The meeting concluded with both sides agreeing to accelerate and expand joint cooperation activities to support Somalia’s digital future.
