Mogadishu, April 19, 2025 – The Minister of Health of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Dr. Ali Haji Adam, today welcomed 15 Somali children at Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu, following successful surgeries abroad that restored their hearing.
The children, aged between 3 and 6 years old, were born with hearing impairments and underwent medical procedures facilitated by the Federal Ministry of Health in collaboration with the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center. Their return marks a milestone in the government’s efforts to provide life-changing healthcare to vulnerable communities.
Dr. Ali Haji Adam was joined at the reception by the Ministry’s Director General, Dr. Guled Abdijaliil, the Head of the ENT Department, and representatives from IRVD. He praised the initiative as a significant step in expanding access to specialized healthcare for all Somali citizens.
“This is a proud moment and a reflection of what can be achieved through partnership and commitment. It is only the beginning of broader efforts to address the critical health needs of our people,” said Minister Ali Haji.
The Ministry reaffirmed its dedication to improving healthcare accessibility across Somalia, especially for children, women, and the elderly, as part of its long-term goal to ensure inclusive, nationwide healthcare services.
