Mogadishu (SONNA) – A minor fire caused by an electrical fault broke out this evening at Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu, according to a statement from the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation of the Federal Government of Somalia.
The fire, which originated in the airport’s air conditioning systems, was swiftly extinguished by on-site fire and security teams. Authorities confirmed that the situation was handled efficiently, with no significant disruptions to airport operations.
In its press release, the Ministry praised the quick response of emergency personnel, stating that the incident was managed “competently and responsibly.” No injuries or major damage were reported.
Aden Adde International Airport remains fully operational, and officials have assured the public that all necessary safety measures are in place to prevent similar incidents in the future.
