Mogadishu, Somalia – In an effort to facilitate the spiritual journey of Somali pilgrims to Mina, the Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs, Mukhtar Robow Ali, oversaw the meticulous preparations for their transportation during the Hajj days.

The federal government of Somalia has made commendable efforts to ensure a smooth and comfortable pilgrimage for its citizens. A fleet of 230 buses, each with the capacity to carry 50 pilgrims, has been arranged to transport the 11,500 faithfuls to the sacred site. This logistical feat was confirmed by Dr. Khadar, the Head of the Hajj Affairs Office.

As the 8th day of Dulhij, known as Yowmu Tarwiya, aligns with today’s date, millions of pilgrims from across the globe have converged in Mina. The Somali contingent, comprising religious scholars and government officials, including a special delegation of 2015 members from the ministry, has settled into their designated accommodations for the night.

This year’s pilgrimage marks a significant participation from Somalia, with a total of 11,715 pilgrims embarking on this holy expedition. The government’s dedication to supporting religious practices is evident in the careful planning and resources allocated to ensure a fulfilling Hajj experience for all Somali pilgrims.
