At present, the world is going into fighting against the epidemic. The speed, scope and impact of the epidemic are beyond people’s imagination, which has let people’s deep thinking.
Some friends asked me, what made China a major victory in fighting against the epidemic? In fact, the most fundamental is that under the strong leadership of the Central Committee of Communist Party of China with comrade Xi Jinping as the core, more than 90 million members of the CPC and people stand together through storm and stress, go through thick and thin together, keep flesh-and-blood ties, and strengthen unity to fight against the epidemic, and achieve great victories, with its strength coming from China’s culture. The Chinese power, Chinese spirit, Chinese wisdom, and China’s contributions reflected in China’s fighting against the epidemic originated from the Chinese culture with a long history. Kindheartedness and great love are the core value of Chinese culture.
Chinese culture advocates the feelings of family and country. “The family is essential under Heaven”. Family is the smallest country, the country is ten million families, with a strong country, there is a rich family. In China’s fighting against the epidemic, parents send their children to the frontline; husbands send their wives and wives send their husbands to fight the epidemic; and husband and wife make contributions fighting the epidemic; sacrificing the smallest family for the country, and many doctors, PLA soldiers, workers, farmers, express brothers etc., were desperate and charged ahead, brightened hope and brought warmth to people, wrote a lot of stories of kindheartedness, which move the heaven and the earth, evoke praises and people’s tears, spreading a great love of the world. The people are the real heroes in fighting the epidemic and the real masters of history fighting against epidemic created by the people.
Chinese culture advocates that the world is as one family. Mankind live in the global village. The epidemic is a common threat and enemy of all mankind, regardless of national boundaries. In the face of the epidemic, we need to work together, oppose any beggar-thy-neighbor practice that serves one’s own interests at the cost of others; we need unity to fight together, rather than alone; we need multilateralism, not unilateralism. No country can meet with the challenge of epidemic alone, and no country can be alone, no bystanders in response to the epidemic. Regionalization, racism and stigmatization of the epidemic are irresponsible for life and trample on human dignity. Xi Jinping’s Diplomatic Thought points out that the survival and development of mankind are closely related, mankind is a community with a shared future.
Chinese culture advocates helping and support each other. In today’s world, with the rapid development of science and technology, countries are closely linked and are increasingly becoming a global village with you and me. To help others is to help ourselves; to be convenient with others is to be convenient with ourselves; to send roses to others, we have fragrance in our hands; everyone is for me, me is for everyone. We always believe that China will do well only when the world does well, and vice versa. China has received strong support from the international community in fighting the epidemic, and actively provided help to other countries in fighting against the epidemic. We oppose the totally unresponsive ideas and watching the fire from the shore. We oppose the political game of politicizing the epidemic and the obsolete notion of zero-sum game or winner taking all. We oppose “the jungle law of the jungle”. We call for global solidarity and international cooperation. Xi Jinping’s Diplomatic Thought tells us that countries, big or small, strong or weak, rich or poor, are all equal, and different systems, religions and civilizations are treated alike. Humanity, unity, benevolence, compassion, fraternity and dedication have been in the blood of us Chinese nation and a part of the DNA of Chinese culture.
Chinese culture advocates win-win cooperation. The world is based on the common interests of mankind, with common responsibilities as its rules and common destiny as its direction. In the face of epidemics and major disasters, only through unity and cooperation can mankind overcome all difficulties. The personal freedom interest cannot be placed above the public interest, and the public life safety is superior to the social development goal. Human life is higher than all. It is the largest human right in the world to put the people and their lives first, protect people’s life safety and health, and win the victory in fighting the epidemic. Only by helping each other and going hand in hand can we overcome the epidemic together; only through unity and cooperation, extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits, mutual respect, fairness and justice can we defeat the common enemy of mankind. Xi Jinping’s Diplomatic Thought puts forward people centered principle, promotes the Belt and Road Initiative, its purpose is to achieve win-win cooperation and common development.
A great struggle against the epidemic has made people even more aware of how important it is for President Xi Jinping to put forward to build a community with a shared future of mankind. We live on the same planet, we have a common home. We are both prosperous and destructive. Let’s stand firm in our faith and work together to get rid of the shadows of the epidemic and let the sunshine of peace and happiness shine on the people of the world.
