Mogadishu, June 10, 2026(SONNA)- Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E, Hamza Abdi Barre has congratulated Sheikh Adan Mohamed Nur on his election as the new leader of Southwest State following a vote held Wednesday in Baidoa.
In a statement, the Prime Minister said the election reflects progress in Somalia’s electoral process and national political development, while commending members of the Southwest State Parliament for carrying out their responsibilities in a transparent manner.
“I extend my congratulations to Sheikh Adan Mohamed Nur on his election as the new leader of Southwest State and wish him success in fulfilling his responsibilities,” Prime Minister Hamza said.
The Prime Minister also prayed for the newly elected leader’s success in carrying out the national responsibilities entrusted to him and expressed confidence in his ability to effectively lead the state and serve its people.
