Mogadishu, (SONNA)-: The Ministry of Information of Somalia has reported successful military operations against Al-Shabaab terrorists with links to al-Qaeda in several regions over the past 24 hours.
The operations, conducted by the national armed forces with the help of local forces and international partners, targeted terrorist gatherings in different locations, including Adalle village in the Middle Shabelle region and Janali area in the Lower Shabelle region.
A total of 130 militants were killed in the operations, with 80 killed in Shabellow, Mudug region, and 42 in Adalle village.
In addition, 4 terrorist militants were killed during a terrorist attack on a public house in the capital, Mogadishu, while 14 others surrendered to the armed forces in Mudug.
The successful military operations have dealt a heavy blow to Al-Shabaab’s terrorist activities in Somalia, and the Ministry of Information has praised the national armed forces, local forces, and international partners for their efforts in ensuring the safety and security of Somalia’s citizens.
