Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Minister of Internal Security of the Federal Government of Somalia, Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail Fartaag, and the Commander of the Somali Police Force, Major General Asad Osman Abdullahi, jointly presided over the closing ceremony of a specialized training program for a unit of the police forces.
The training, supported by the European Union Capacity Building Mission in Somalia (EUCAP), focused on countering threats to public safety and enhancing respect for human rights during operations. At the ceremony, EUCAP officially handed over vehicles and military equipment to the trained unit.
These forces have been equipped with the skills to combat Al-Shabaab militants and are now better prepared to protect civilians, uphold the rule of law, and conduct professional operations in line with modern policing standards that prioritize the safety and rights of the Somali people.
