PM Hamza chairs a meeting discussing effects of climate change

Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E Hamza Abdi Barre chaired a meeting discussing effects of climate change and ways to tackle their causes in our country.

Reports were presented at the meeting indicating different ways that the climate change impacted our country, its levels and the plans to cope with them.

The meeting also focused on the national plans to reducing air pollution and how to increase resilience to the risks of climate change.

Prime Minister Hamza said that climate change had a direct impact in Somalia, particularly on the environment which showed significant changes. He instructed the government agencies to come up with measures to prevent and report the areas that need special attention and investment from the risks of climate change.
