MOGADISHU (SONNA) β The Governor of the Benadir region and Mayor of Mogadishu, Dr. Hassan Mohamed Hussein (Mungaab), hosted a dinner reception in honor of the Speaker of the Northeast State of Somalia Parliament, Adan Abdullahi Aw Hassan. The Speaker is currently on a visit to the capital.
The event, held at the Mayor’s residence last night, focused on strengthening the relationship and cooperation between Somalia’s regional administrations and the central government. Attendees highlighted the importance of dialogue, consultation, and connectivity between federal member states and the local government.
The dinner was attended by members of both houses of the Federal Parliament, including the Deputy Mayor for Security and Politics, Mohamed Ahmed Diriye (Yaboh), and the Deputy Mayor for Public Works, Abdimajid Dahir Adan. Directors, politicians, traditional elders, and other honored guests also attended and praised the efforts to build a political and social relationship that unites all Somalis.
Mayor Mungaab stated that Mogadishu is always open to leaders and the people of Somalia, emphasizing that such meetings are crucial for building trust and strengthening national unity.
In his remarks, Speaker Adan Abdullahi Aw Hassan thanked the Mayor of Mogadishu for the warm hospitality and reception, describing the capital as a symbol of the nation’s unity, progress, and peace.
