Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Somali Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism has expressed its deepest condolences following the passing of renowned national artist Luul Jeeylaani Cali, who passed away in the United States. The late Luul Jeeylaani was a celebrated member of the Waaberi National Troupe and a prominent figure in Somali arts and culture.
In a joint statement, Minister Daud Aweys Jama, Deputy Minister Abdirahman Yusuf Omar Al-Adala, Director General Abdullahi Hayir Ducaale, along with directors and staff of the ministry, conveyed their heartfelt sympathy to her family, loved ones, and the wider artistic community.
Luul Jeeylaani was a leading figure in Banadir theater and Somali arts, leaving an indelible mark on the country’s cultural heritage. Her contributions during the golden era of Somali music and theater earned her widespread admiration, and she will be remembered for her significant role in preserving Somali traditions.
The Ministry prayed for Allah’s mercy upon her soul and extended prayers for her family to find strength during this time of loss.
