Birmingham (SONNA) — The Somali community in Birmingham, the United Kingdom’s second-largest city, on Saturday warmly welcomed a delegation led by the Deputy Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Abdirahman Yusuf Al-Adaala, who is on an official working visit to the country.
The community gathered for a large reception in honor of the deputy minister, during which Minister Al-Adaala briefed attendees on progress made in Somalia’s state-building process, recent achievements in safeguarding national unity, ongoing operations to liberate areas previously used as hideouts by extremist groups, the rollout of one-person-one-vote elections, and other milestones achieved by the DanQaran government.
Minister Al-Adaala also commended the Somali diaspora in the UK for their continued support and urged them to continue standing with national efforts to defend Somalia’s unity and sovereignty, calling for collective action in response to actions undermining the country’s cohesion, independence, and national solidarity.
