Somalia Prioritizes Tourism Development to Boost National Revenue

Mogadishu (SONNA) — The Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Daud Aweis Jama, said that the DanQaran Government has placed special emphasis on the development of tourism and has conducted a dedicated study focused on Somalia’s tourism sector and its growth.

The minister stated that key tourist sites across the country have been identified, a national tourism development plan has been formulated, efforts are underway to revive former tourism services, and plans are in place to establish an institute dedicated to tourism studies.

Minister Daud Aweis further emphasized that the Federal Government is encouraging individuals and companies involved in the development of the tourism sector, acknowledging that tourism can play a significant role in boosting national revenue.
