Mogadishu (SONNA): The Minister of Communications and Technology of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Mohamed Adan (Soomaali), held strategic meetings with his Kenyan counterpart and national delegations from Zimbabwe and the United Arab Emirates on the sidelines of the 28th Universal Postal Union (UPU) Congress.
The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation in postal and digital services, enhancing cross-border mail and parcel delivery systems, and supporting Somalia’s recent resumption of international postal services.
Minister Soomaali reaffirmed Somalia’s commitment to building lasting partnerships with regional and global counterparts to modernize the country’s postal sector in line with international standards.
Officials from Kenya, Zimbabwe, and the UAE welcomed Somalia’s efforts and expressed readiness to support through training, technical assistance, and facilitating international mail exchanges.
These meetings form part of Somalia’s broader strategy to restore its role in the global postal network, contributing to economic growth, trade, and social connectivity.
