Minister of Commerce Holds Consultative Meeting with Intellectuals from Sanaag and Bari

Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Minister of Commerce and Industry of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E Mohamud Ahmed Aden Geesood, held a consultative meeting in Mogadishu with intellectuals and respected community leaders hailing from the Sanaag and Bari regions.

The session focused on critical issues affecting the regions, including their political future, development opportunities, and strategies to address ongoing challenges. Attendees also applauded the Federal Government’s progress, particularly in the fight against extremist groups such as Al-Shabaab.

Minister Geesood highlighted the government’s commitment to inclusive decision-making, stating that the people of Sanaag and Bari must have a voice in shaping their own destiny. He emphasized the Federal Government’s openness to hearing local perspectives, solutions, and development priorities from these communities.

The meeting was attended by prominent figures including former Puntland Parliament Speaker Abdirashid Yusuf Jibril, Senator Zeynab Ismail Timpie, and other senior officials, reflecting broad engagement and support for the Federal Government’s nation-building agenda.
