Mogadishu, SONNA – National Security Advisor Hussein Moalim Mohamud has provided key insights into the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM) operation, which is actively underway.
In an interview, the advisor confirmed that the operation is being led by the Somali government, with troop contributions from Djibouti, Egypt, Kenya, Uganda, and Ethiopia. This coordinated effort demonstrates a regional commitment to enhancing security and stability in Somalia.
He highlighted that significant progress has already been made in securing key areas and eliminating terrorist threats. Furthermore, he stated that the Somali National Army is on track to receive complete military equipment, enabling it to take full control of the country’s security responsibilities in the near future.
The Federal Government of Somalia, in collaboration with AUSSOM troop-contributing countries and international partners, continues its efforts to secure the nation and eliminate all threats to its sovereignty and stability.
