Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Hasan Mohamed Ali, held a meeting with Henk Jan Bakker, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Somalia, accompanied by the Netherlands’ Envoy for the Horn of Africa.
The meeting comes at a critical moment as Somalia continues to consolidate gains in governance and stabilization, with both sides aligning on current political developments, security cooperation, and priority areas of engagement. The Deputy Minister underscored the importance of sustained international partnership to reinforce security, accelerate economic growth, and translate progress into tangible outcomes for the Somali people.
Discussions focused on expanding cooperation in high-impact sectors, particularly agriculture, water management, food security, and health systems, areas where Dutch expertise offers strong strategic value. Both sides expressed a shared commitment to advancing practical, results-driven collaboration that strengthens Somalia’s development trajectory and contributes to regional stability.
