Nairobi, Kenya – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, recently visited some of the Somali community markets in the Easleigh neighbourhood of Nairobi. During his visit, he engaged with Somali citizens, local business owners, and entrepreneurs, discussing various topics related to investment, security, and progress.

President Mohamud emphasized the importance of economic growth and investment for both Somalia and the Somali diaspora. He encouraged Somali entrepreneurs in Kenya to explore investment opportunities in their home country, highlighting sectors such as agriculture, infrastructure, and technology. The president assured them of the government’s commitment to creating a conducive environment for business development.

Security remains a critical concern for Somalia, and President Mohamud addressed this issue during his interactions with the Somali community. He acknowledged the challenges posed by extremist groups and pledged to strengthen security cooperation between Somalia and Kenya. The president also urged Somali citizens living abroad to contribute to peace-building efforts by sharing information and supporting initiatives aimed at countering terrorism.

As Somalia continues its journey toward stability and development, President Mohamud shared updates on the country’s progress. He highlighted achievements in areas such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure. Additionally, he reminded Somali nationals in Kenya to abide by the laws of their host country while maintaining their cultural identity and contributing positively to their communities.

The president’s visit served as a bridge between the Somali diaspora and their homeland, fostering dialogue, understanding, and collaboration. It symbolized the shared aspirations of Somalis worldwide for a prosperous and peaceful future.
