The Somali National Army (SNA) has intensified its security operations in Jowhar, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance public safety and counter threats posed by extremist elements.
Units from the 18th Brigade of the elite Gorgor Commandos, led by Col. Aden Mohamed Farah, carried out coordinated and planned operations across key areas of the town in the Middle Shabelle region. The operation focused on maintaining stability and preventing activities linked to the Kharijites that could endanger the community.
During the operation, troops conducted thorough searches of strategic locations, including major neighborhoods, public areas, and key access routes into and out of Jowhar. The measures were aimed at disrupting potential threats and reinforcing the security presence across the city.
Speaking during the operation, Col. Aden Mohamed Farah, alongside other military officers, called on residents to cooperate closely with security forces, emphasizing the importance of public collaboration in maintaining peace and preventing security disruptions.
Officials confirmed that additional planned operations are underway as part of a broader strategy to further strengthen security and ensure sustained stability in the region.
