Jawle, SONNA – The Somali National Army, in collaboration with local forces, has killed more than 10 militants, including a key leader, during ongoing operations in the rural areas surrounding Jawle, located in the Mudug region.
The operation targeted Abdullahi Said Bulxiye, the Khawarij leader responsible for the Jawle area, who was eliminated alongside 10 of his militiamen serving as bodyguards. Bulxiye was a prominent figure within the militant group, and his death marks a major setback for the Khawarij in the region.
Officials from the National Army and local forces confirmed that the operation is still ongoing, with troops continuing to pursue remaining militants in the area. The joint forces have intensified their efforts to dismantle the Khawarij network and restore stability to the region.
Jawle, a strategic area in the Mudug region, has been a hotspot for militant activity, and this operation underscores the government’s commitment to eradicating terrorism and ensuring the safety of local communities. The elimination of Bulxiye and his militiamen is expected to disrupt the Khawarij’s operations in the area significantly.
The Somali National Army has praised the collaboration with local forces, emphasizing the importance of community support in the fight against terrorism. “This operation demonstrates our resolve to protect our people and eliminate threats to peace and security,” said a military official.
As the operation continues, residents of Jawle and surrounding areas have expressed hope for a return to normalcy and stability. The government has reiterated its commitment to supporting affected communities and rebuilding regions liberated from militant control.
