Mogadishu, (SONNA) – A significant step towards enhancing Somalia’s fisheries sector was achieved today with the launch of the Quality and Safety Inspection Committee for Fisheries in Mogadishu. The event brought together ministers, parliamentarians, representatives from the fishing industry, and international organizations to witness this important milestone.
The committee’s primary goal is to oversee the quality and safety of Somali fish products, ensuring they are fit for consumption and meet international standards. It also aims to develop improved inspection procedures to boost the competitiveness of Somali fish in both local and global markets.
