MOGADISHU, SONNA — Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre welcomed a high-level delegation led by Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Marshad, the CEO of the Saudi Fund for Development, to his office in Mogadishu. The meeting focused on exploring avenues for deepening bilateral cooperation, particularly in investment and infrastructure development within Somalia.
The discussions highlighted the pivotal role the Saudi Fund for Development could play in Somalia’s economic growth. As a key partner, the Fund has been instrumental in Somalia’s economic reform efforts, which culminated in the country’s successful achievement of complete debt forgiveness.
Prime Minister Barre expressed his gratitude to the Saudi delegation for their visit, emphasizing that Somalia offers significant investment opportunities, particularly in agriculture, fisheries, and energy sectors. The meeting reinforced the ongoing commitment of both nations to fostering mutual economic progress and strengthening their ties.
