The Cabinet of the Federal Republic of Somalia convened under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Salah Ahmed Jama to review the progress of the constitutional review process.
During the meeting, the Independent Commission for the Review and Implementation of the Constitution, along with the Committee on Constitutional Affairs from Parliament, provided updates on the consultations regarding the constitutional review, particularly focusing on Articles 5 and 9, where discussions are already in progress.
This ongoing draft constitutional review is essential for the Federal Government’s commitment to conducting a universal suffrage election—One Person, One Vote. This initiative aims to enhance democracy and foster an inclusive political environment in the country.
