Mogadishu, (SONNA) – With support from international partners, the health ministry plans to intensify efforts to end the 7-year variant poliovirus outbreak.
The Minister of Health, Dr Ali Haji Adan said that stopping poliovirus transmission is one of the government’s top priorities.
Dr. Hamid Jafari, Director of Polio Eradication in the WHO Eastern Mediterranean Region, commended the dedication of Somalia’s leadership towards urgently preventing any further transmission and spread of polio.
