Mogadishu (SONNA)-The Somali National Army killed 142 Al-Shabaab militants and injured 29 others and recovered large amount of weapons in the ongoing military operations in Janale town in lower Shabele region, SONNA reported.
Col. Osman Shabel, Military commander told the State Media that the current military operations resulted in the capture of 18 terrorist militant members of Al-Shabaab so far.
” We have gained military achievements since the liberation of Janale town on March 16,2020. Our forces killed 142 Al-Shabaab members, wounded 29 others and captured 18 members”, Mr. Osman Shabel said.
Mr. Shabel said that the situation of the town was stable, businesses were open, adding that the army distributed food to more than 1,500 families who were among displaced people, but returned back to the town now.
