Mogadishu, Somalia (SONNA) — The National Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (NIEBC) on Tuesday launched voter registration in Galbarwaaqo town, located in the Mudug region under Hobyo district.
Local authorities and members of the community turned out early in large numbers, lining up to register as voters in preparation for the country’s upcoming one-person, one-vote elections.
The electoral commission is accelerating voter registration efforts across areas under Hobyo district as part of broader preparations to ensure inclusive and participatory elections.
