Burco, (SONNA) – Thousands of people came out to protest in Burco city in the Togdheer region to show their anger at Ethiopia’s intentions to have access to part of Somalia’s ocean after the signing of the MoU.

The people of Burco are against the Memorandum of Understanding between the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Abiy Ahmed Ali and Somaliland’s President whose term has ended Muse Bihi Abdi, and the people are protesting to show the bad intentions of Ethiopia wanting the Ocean of Somalia.

The people of Burco are saying that they do not endorse the MoU and will not accept the taking of Somalia’s ocean even if it is an inch.

There have been several protests in the country and all are against the agreement between the two parties which claims a land that belongs to Somalia will be given to Ethiopia. The sovereignty of Somalia and its territorial integrity cannot be violated by anyone or country.
