Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Deputy Minister of Defense of Somalia, Mr. Omar Ali Abdi, today welcomed a large delegation led by Brigadier Kahuaria Njema, the Director of the Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF), at the Ministry’s headquarters.
During the meeting, Deputy Minister Omar and the delegation discussed ways to enhance and strengthen cooperation in defense and regional security matters.
Mr. Omar listened to a briefing from the EASF Director regarding the progress made on the organization’s recent operational plan. He noted that the Federal Government of Somalia, currently holding the chairmanship of the Council of Ministers of the Eastern Africa Standby Force, has significantly boosted regional cooperation aimed at stabilization and peace efforts.
This meeting underscores Somalia’s commitment to fostering collaborative security initiatives in the Eastern Africa region.
