Baidoa, (SONNA) — The Interim Leader of the South West State of Somalia, H.E. Jibril Abdiraashid Haji, on Thursday received at the Presidential Palace in Baidoa a delegation led by the Chairman of the National Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, H.E. Abdikarim Ahmed Hassan, who arrived in the city earlier today.
The meeting focused on preparations for the upcoming South West State elections, with both sides discussing ways to ensure the polls are conducted within the scheduled timeframe and that all political parties are treated fairly throughout the electoral process.
H.E. Jibril Abdiraashid Haji underscored the importance of holding free and credible elections in accordance with the country’s laws, noting that such a process would contribute to political stability and strengthen public confidence.
For his part, the Chairman of the National Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission reaffirmed the commission’s commitment to implementing a transparent, inclusive, and accountable electoral process in which all stakeholders are treated equally.
