Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Standing Committee of the House of the People of the Federal Parliament of Somalia held its regular session at Villa Hargeisa, chaired by the Speaker of the House, H.E. Sheikh Adan Mohamed Nur (Madobe). He was accompanied by First Deputy Speaker Hon. Sadia Yasin Haji Samatar and Second Deputy Speaker Hon. Abdullahi Omar Abshirow.
Opening the session, Speaker Madobe briefed committee members on the resumption of parliamentary duties following a brief recess for Eid and the Hajj pilgrimage. He urged members to accelerate their legislative work and prioritize the pending bills during the remaining period of the sixth parliamentary session.
Committee members then presented updates on the status of bills under their review, the procedures that remain, and timelines for tabling them before the general assembly. The session also included discussions on the upcoming agenda for next week’s parliamentary meetings.
