Baydhabo (SONNA) – The President of Somalia’s Southwest State, Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed Laftagareen, has extended his congratulations to the people of Banadir for participating peacefully, responsibly, and transparently in today’s one-person, one-vote local elections.
President Laftagareen commended the citizens for their political maturity, awareness, and commitment to engaging in the country’s democratic processes, emphasizing that these elections mark a historic step toward governance rooted in the will of the people.
He also praised security agencies, election commissions, and all officials involved in organizing the polls, noting that their efforts ensured voting took place in a safe and orderly environment.
The President underscored the importance of continued citizen participation in Somalia’s democratic processes to elect leadership that reflects the people’s choice and to strengthen national unity and development.
