Cairo, (SONNA) — The Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, H.E. Ambassador Ali Abdi Awari, received H.E. Ambassador Mohamed Samir, Assistant Foreign Minister of Egypt and Permanent Representative of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the League, at the Somali Embassy in Cairo.
The meeting focused on ways to further strengthen bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries. Ambassador Ali Abdi Awari expressed his sincere appreciation for Egypt’s firm and supportive positions toward the independence, unity, and territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Somalia, affirming Somalia’s pride in the depth and strength of the fraternal and strategic relations binding the two nations.
The Somali ambassador praised Egypt’s pivotal role in supporting Somalia at both the Arab and international levels, and underscored Somalia’s keenness to continue enhancing cooperation and coordination, intensifying bilateral and multilateral engagement in a manner that serves shared interests, bolsters regional security and stability, and supports Arab unity in confronting current challenges.
For his part, Ambassador Mohamed Samir reaffirmed Egypt’s steadfast support for the Federal Republic of Somalia, emphasizing that Egypt’s Mission to the League of Arab States continues to provide full support to its Somali counterpart, reflecting the deep-rooted fraternal ties between the two countries.
The meeting also addressed ways to advance and strengthen joint Arab action to meet the aspirations of Arab states and enhance their collective ability to confront common challenges.
