Mogadishu (SONNA): The Speaker of the Somali Federal Parliament, Sheikh Adan Mohamed Noor (Madobobe), hosted a farewell meeting for the outgoing UNHCR Representative in Somalia, Magatte Guisse, and his deputy, Sanaa Omer, in his office today. The UNHCR officials have completed their tenure in the country and are set to leave soon.
Sheikh Adan Madobe expressed his gratitude to the UNHCR for their valuable contribution to the humanitarian situation in Somalia, especially for assisting thousands of internally displaced persons (IDPs) and refugees from other countries. He also urged the incoming UNHCR leadership to continue and enhance the support for the vulnerable populations in Somalia.
